Fedor Lavrov

Journalist, documentary photographer, photo editor, curator, and teacher.

Born in 1988, grew up in Tula, and currently works in Moscow and Tula. Holds a Master’s degree in Art History and is a graduate of Lomonosov Moscow State University with a specialization in Photojournalism. Member of the Russian Union of Art Photographers and the International Federation of Artists.

Specializes in topics related to communities formed around conceptual frameworks. Beyond photography, works in the field of visual communication, including storytelling, image editing, creating long reads, and curating exhibitions.

As a photo editor and curator, regularly collaborates on projects involving archival photographs and visual documents.

Teaches journalism in the “Media Journalism” program at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA).

2009 - 2011: Master’s degree in Art History, Tula State Lev Tolstoy Pedagogical University.

June-August 2024: "Svetopis" (Gelendzhik, Goryachy Klyuch, Krasnodar).

October 2022: "Ordinary Children". Solo exhibition. Exhibition Hall of the Tula Museum Association, Tula. Also presented in Tver in 2023.

June 2017: "Solyanka" – "People of Steel". Group exhibition. Graduation exhibition of the professional training program "Photojournalism", Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow.

Recipient of the 2024 Russian Union of Art Photographers Scholarship.
Shortlisted for the "PhotoStrelka" photography competition.
Shortlisted for the "Svetopis 2024" photography competition.
3rd place in the blitz competition at the "Young Photography 2023" festival (Tula).
Recipient of the 2022 Russian Union of Art Photographers Scholarship.
Honorable mention by the jury in the blitz competition at the "PhotoUnion. Unity" festival (Suzdal, 2021).
Shortlisted for the All-Russian competition on the life of people with disabilities, “Without Barriers” (2021), series "Yesenya" (part of the project “Ordinary Children”).
3rd place in the blitz competition at the All-Russian festival “Young Photographers of Russia 2015.”
